We got to
sleep in a bit today as our pickup was 10:00.
Finished packing and were met by Op, our driver and headed off for the
drive to Krabi with a last Patong Bay view point stop for pictures...
and a few stops for pictures of the mountains and jungles.
We arrived at the Tiger Cave Temple just as the heavens opened up (again). We now always travel with our umbrellas so we made the trek up to the temple without getting totally soaked. The temple is really the inside of a cave (or large overhang actually). We took a few pictures...
and then went to see the Black Crab sculpture. Apparently they harvest a lot of black crabs from the local waters.
Our hotel
is a Holiday Inn Resort right across the road from the beach (which we
discovered is rimmed with wire baskets which they are using to build a rock
seawall…but it was hard to get onto the beach).
The rain let up so we took a walk along part of the beach walk and
checked out a few shops and restaurants. We arrived at the Tiger Cave Temple just as the heavens opened up (again). Unfortunately it just isn’t a nice day to be out and about…and this is our only half day off from sightseeing. The hotel did leave us a lovely welcome gift made of orchids.
